BDE (Borland Database Engine) is a legacy data-access layer originally created to provide Delphi and C++Builder applications with a unified way to connect to databases. It offers a driver-based interface (IDAPI) for both local file formats such as Paradox and dBASE and client/server systems via SQL Links and ODBC. The engine manages aliases, configuration, and caching, and exposes datasets through components like TTable and TQuery. BDE is 32-bit and Windows-only and has long been deprecated; for new development or migrations, consider modern alternatives such as FireDAC, dbExpress, or native ODBC drivers.
BDE (Borland Database Engine) is developed by Andreas Scheller. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.0 and 5.2. The names of program executable files are BDE7Man.exe, bdeadmin.exe and BDECFG.EXE.
You can check Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable, Visual DataFlex Client Engine, BDE eXpress for Vista and other related programs like JEDI Database Desktop at the "download" section.
